How we use your details
Who we are. BennyEats is run by Sangeevan Sivathas, a sole trader trading as BennyEats, who is the controller of the details you send. Email: hello@bennyeats.co.uk.
What we collect. Your name, your restaurant’s name, your email address, your phone number if you give it, how you’d like the demo and your message. We need your name, your restaurant’s name and your email address to reply to you; the rest is up to you.
Why, and on what basis. Only to reply to you and arrange your demo, by the method you asked for, and to answer your questions about it. For a sole trader or a partner in a partnership, this is a step you have asked us to take before a possible contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). For anyone else, such as the staff of a company or the members and staff of an LLP, we rely on our legitimate interests in answering enquiries about our service (Article 6(1)(f)). Answering your request isn’t marketing. We won’t add you to marketing emails.
Who else handles it. We keep your request in our database, hosted by Cloudflare. If we email you back, we use our business inbox, provided by Microsoft 365. Both act for us under contracts with us. They may handle data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the UK-US data bridge where the provider is certified under it, or otherwise on the UK’s approved contract clauses (the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum). You can ask us for a copy. We never sell your details or share them with anyone else, unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it. If your restaurant signs up, your details become part of its account. If not, we delete them, and our emails with you, 24 months after our last contact with you.
Your rights. You can ask us for a copy of your details, and ask us to correct them, delete them or restrict how we use them. You can object at any time to our use of them based on legitimate interests. Where we rely on a step you asked us to take before a contract, you can also ask for the details you gave us in a portable format (a CSV or JSON file). Email hello@bennyeats.co.uk. We reply within one month.
Complaints. Please tell us first, at hello@bennyeats.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commission (the ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
